I did not want to skate that night because the last time I
was there I felt like I paid ten to something bucks just to get my ass handed to
me; So I decided to snap some pictures that night. Talk about amateur hour.
I went to restroom and I see two blader/Inliners (Edit:It was
Christopher Smith and someone else…). I gave a nod of
acknowledgement and went towards the skate park portion of the establishment. I
saw good amount of skaters there when I stepped in. Hopefully I could get the
attendance right based on my faulty memory. In attendance (in no specific
order) were: Sam Giese, Derek Stanton, Chris Parks, Kenny Scherf, Nate Brown,
Ryan Buchanan, Stephen Parson, Ty Davies, Josiah Jones, Andrew Heath, Beno Thomas and
Mike Willoughby, along with this guy with grey EU Valos (Tim Wojutulewicz), and a few other people either I
forgot the names of or I forgot that they were there, my apologies. Also Zach Wyman with Remz Skates.
Anyways, I did my greetings with all the skate buddies. I
started snapping pictures near the mini half pipe area.
Nate was doing this Ally oop top soul to spin to royal. Looked pretty cool. Not sure if he ever landed one that he was satisfied with.
Stephen was doing his quick footed lines of grinds and stalls. I never get bored of watching Stephen’s hyperactive trick vocabulary.
Ty did a few top Acids and a Wheel Barrel (heel roll Fish brain slide) on the coping. Ty has a certain amount of trick vocabulary that is reminiscent of Jon Elliott.
Sam was trying top soul to something on the extension near the wall.
Ryan and Kenny were filming a clip.
Kenny was attempting to do a Cess slide on the top of a quarter pipe to stall the Makio foot on the coping and then Cess slide down the quarter pipe.
Beno Thomas - X grind |

Later on that night, the p rail was being skated by Derek,
Josiah, Nate, Chris and Kenny.
Derek was doing alley oop top Acids and many other cool grind switch ups. A good combination of grace and technical foot / body switch
Josiah was doing a sweet top porn, to budget pull up Torque, to a tru top Soyale switch up.
Chris was doing some sleezy / steezy back Torque / Farvs.
Nate did this really impressive back Royale to counter clock wise spin into a Sweatstance.

Sam told me that our old, friends Britt Myslynki. Devan Stewart. and Kegan
Stewart were going to skate at Tempe 2 skate park.
I said a quick good bye to the guys at the KTR session and
immediately drove to Tempe 2.
Tempe 2 is just a large bowl. I was not planning on skating
so I decided to do some maintenance on my skates and catch up with Britt, Devan
and Kegan.
I got there and it was freezing. I lubed up my bearings and
rotated my wheels on a few skates and left to meet up with my wife to attend a
friends drag show.
Overall the session was fun and skating is probably one of
the funniest things that surrounds my life at times. I met a lot of good
friends since the beginning and now I feel more encouraged to
meet new people who share the same hobby as me.
First Session of the year. 2019, More fun to come.
